Created by Neil Thapen, who is a really clever guy from the Institute of Maths Academy in the Check Republic, this really cool site allows you to simulate how speech is formed in a human mouth. We tried it out and found it strangely addictive and fascinating. When you have a play around with it you will see that different areas of the mouth create different sounds and now you can control them all. See what the hard palate, the soft palate, the lips, glottis, tongue and nasal cavity all sound like, especially when they are all played with together. The pink trombone challenges you on a boring day to form a vowel, a consonant, or if you are really practised an actual word. Have a play around and see what you can do and what sounds you can form.
